Martial arts instruction (Songahm-style taekwondo) – School #3280 in the American Taekwondo Assoc.
We represent one of the 1,500 current schools in the American Taekwondo Association (ATA) which is America’s largest single-style martial arts group with 300,000 current students. We have recently moved three storefronts down within the Manheim Shopping Center into a studio which is more than twice as large as our previous location.
We teach Songahm-style taekwondo which is the most commonly taught style of taekwondo developed by Eternal Grand Master H.U. Lee more than forty years ago. The ATA’s time-tested curriculum has been shown to improve self-discipline, memory, self confidence, school grades, ADHD focus, respect, self-control, and physical fitness.
Our programs are age-specific and include: Tiny Tigers (ages 4-7), Juniors (ages 8-12), Teens (ages 13+), and Adults. We can tailor programs for students with special needs, and we also provide excellent opportunities for student leadership. Many of our students also compete regularly in the ATA’s many regional and national tournaments, and amazingly, NINE of our students won the title of Pennsylvania State Champion during the completion year which ended in June 2012!!!
Our school is owned by Ms. Lauren Minnich who is a graduate of Muhlenberg College and a Fourth Degree Black Belt, and Mrs. Douglas-Minnich who is the Supervisor of Special Education in one of Berks County’s largest school districts.
Everybody is welcome to either watch our classes or participate in a class free of charge. We also offer a free private lesson to prospective students of any age in order to show you what our program is all about.
